Pharmaceutical Drug Side-Effects

May 3rd, 2010

Have you ever looked at the list of side-effects that may be experienced when taking prescription or over-the-counter medicines?  It amazes me how many people I speak to who have no idea what they are taking, and certainly no idea what the side-effects are.

Let’s look at the side-effects of a common anti-depressant – a pill prescribed to patients for panic, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, manic depression AND, get this – “for purposes other than those listed” so in other words, anything the practitioner sees fit !!

THESE are the SIDE-EFFECTS :

Abnormal dreams; anxiety; decreased sexual desire or ability; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; flu-like symptoms (eg, fever, chills, muscle aches); flushing; increased sweating; loss of appetite; nausea; nervousness; runny nose; sore throat; stomach upset; trouble sleeping; weakness; yawning… rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness; bizarre behavior; black or bloody stools; chest pain; confusion; decreased concentration; decreased coordination; exaggerated reflexes; excessive sweating; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever, chills, or sore throat; hallucinations; increased hunger, thirst, or urination; joint or wrist aches or pain; memory loss; new or worsening agitation, panic attacks, aggressiveness, impulsiveness, irritability, hostility, exaggerated feeling of well-being, restlessness, or inability to sit still; persistent or severe ringing in the ears;persistent, painful erection; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; seizures; severe or persistent anxiety, trouble sleeping, or weakness; severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or headache; significant weight loss; stomach pain; suicidal thoughts or attempts; tremor; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual or severe mental or mood changes; unusual swelling; unusual weakness; vision changes; worsening of depression

Aren’t the side-effects the same reason why the patient gets put on the drug in the first place?

And take a look at chemotherapy drugs – they cause, Hullo – “cancer” !!!

If you want to know more, there’s plenty of heavily researched material by Phillip Day, a UK Medical Researcher and Author, who runs the Campaign for Truth in Medicine.  The DVD “Food Matters” also provides a powerful message re pills and ills.

Hippocrates (father of Medicine) said “Let thy food be thy medicine, let thy medicine be thy food”  – so where have we gone wrong?

I trust 2000 year old herbal medicine recipes before the synthetic, highly toxic, money-hungry rubbish they give out by the truckload – but that’s my opinion !  Please, DO your Research and ask questions!!

We are what we eat ?!

November 26th, 2009

What are you? A fruit salad or a McDonald’s burger? Have you ever stopped to think about what you eat and how you eat? Ever considered how much REAL goodness you’re getting every day, even in that fruit salad?
According to the experts, we need 60-70 minerals every day. The last average count was 4-13. Why? Pesticides, early harvesting, storage, transport, gassing, colour enhancement, and the list goes on.
Even back in the early 1900s it was documented that our soils were lacking in important minerals – do you think it’s changed? Nope – the pressure of making ends meet and competition have forced farmers into keeping the “big guys” happy, not the people healthy!
The FOOD MATTERS DVD is brilliant – check it out and get it out there – everybody needs to see this…
To a healthier you,

What’s on my mind? The Pill…

August 10th, 2009

The Pill… what is it doing to the female body? A friend had a discussion with her boyfriend regarding the pill versus condoms. Her boyfriend was a little… you could say ‘put-off’ by her suggestion that she would not take the pill anymore, and so wanted to use condoms. She asked him if he knew what the pill was doing to her body. He wasn’t sure so she explained that it basically stops her egg from being released. She then asked him, “if you were given a pill to stop your sperm even though you were still able to orgasm, would you think that’s normal?” He said no and agreed to use condoms. Congratulations to another smart couple!  Check this video out…

Hello World!

August 3rd, 2009

Well Hello there!!  I’ve finally done it… something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time – set up my own blog page for all those out there searching for a bit more than the norm on health issues – not just our own health, but our home and environmental health too.

There is way too much happening out there that is literally ignored and swept under the carpet… alot of it due to our own ignorance.

I’m not expecting to change the world, although that would be fantastic!!  But seriously, nothing is more motivating, more exhilarating and satisfying than to make a positive difference in someone else’s world…

I really hope you enjoy my blogs.  I can’t promise I will be updating every day but when I do I aim to educate, inspire and intrigue.

And don’t let it be all me… keep me posted – join in and blog me back or just leave a comment (nice ones would be very much appreciated)

Have a great day!!

Angie :-)
